I: COVID-19 changes


As part of the current government restrictions, NuSight eye clinic has taken steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19 within our community. Please be assured that protecting the health and wellbeing of our patients remains our highest priority.

We have introduced new safety protocols to ensure the safety of all those who visit our clinic:

  • Mandatory hand sanitising prior to entry into the clinic
  • All patients are asked to wear a mask for the duration they are in clinic, unless they have an exemption
  • Waiting area are strict to social distancing at least 1.5m apart
  • Family and friends may be asked to wait in the car or outside of clinic to allow space for social distancing requirement.

If you are unwell or live with someone who is unwell, we ask that you do not attend your appointment. Thank you for your understanding and continued support during this time.

II. Your appointment


To minimums your waiting time in the clinic, we will email you a patient information form before your appointment. Please fill the form as much as you can. Please bring the filled form with you or email to us before your appointment.

a. What To bring to an appointment?

  1. Medicare card, Private Health Insurance Details
  2. A list of your current medication
  3. Your current glasses if you have one.

b. Will I be dilated with eye drops?
Our new technology Optos retinal imaging minimizes the need for traditional eye dilation most of the time. Additionally, the technology has been proven to detect eye diseases early. In rare cases, your eye may still need to be dilated.

c. How long will my Appointment take?
we recommend that you allow 30 to 40 minutes for your appointments. Some specialty lenses follow-ups can take up to 1 hour. You will be advised in advance if this is the case.

d. Does Medicare Cover the Consultations?
Medicare contributes part of your consultation fee, we will charge a gap fee for the part that is not covered by the Medicare. Some testings such as OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography), Optos, topography (pentacam) and biometry / axial length are not covered by Medicare. We will advise you before the testing when this is the case.

e. What if I need to be seen urgently?
New patients with emergency issues can contact us directly to arrange an urgent appointment. A brief note about the issue would be appreciated when you make an appointment online.
